Creating Your Profile

We recommend using the latest version of Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, or Opera when creating a profile on JewishCafe.com.

The steps to create your free profile are outlined below.

Page One - General Information

On the first page select or input the following information:

• Gender: Select your gender.


• Birthday: Select your birth month and day.


• City: Type in your city. You can choose to hide this on your profile once it is complete, if you wish.


• State/Province: Select your state or province if you live in the US or Canada. If you live outside of these two countries, select "Outside US and Canada"


• Country: Select your country. If your country is not listed select "Other Country"


• Postal/Zip Code: Type in your postal or zip code.


• Username: Type in your desired profile name. We don't recommend you choose your full name because your username will be visible to all. The maximum character length is 13 letters. No numbers, spaces or special characters are allowed. Our system will add three or four numbers to the end of your chosen profile name after you have completed the profile questionnaire (e.g. if you select the name "happy", our system might assign you "happy333" once you complete your profile).


• Email Address: Type in your email address. Your email address must be valid in order to use our site fully and we will send a confirmation request to the email address you list. We do not sell your email address or place you on any outside mailing lists without your consent.


• How Did You Hear About Us?: Select how you heard about JewishCafe.com.com (Another Cafe Member, Search Engine, E-mail Newsletter, Banner/Text Ad or Other). If you were referred by another Cafe member, please select "Another Cafe Member" from the pulldown and then type his/her username in the white box next to "Member Who Referred You". This is a name plus 3-4 digits (e.g. "sunshine3636"). If you were not referred by another Cafe member, that's okay! Simply select another one of the options in that case.

Page Two - Multiple Choice

Page two is Multiple Choice questions. Note that, in some cases, all the multiple choice questions will be all on one page instead of being split between pages two and three. You must complete every multiple choice question (select one option from each drop down menu). If there isn't a response that suits, select the closest one. You will have more space to express yourself in the Short Answer section.

Page Three - Short Answer

Pages four contains a list of Short Answer questions. This is the best place to really express yourself. See tips on creating a more appealing profile for help with writing your answers. You can write as much or as little as you wish for each. Any question you leave blank will not be included in your profile.

Account Created - Obtain Username and Password

Once you have completed the short answer questions screen you will have successfully created your account. The final screen will state "Account Created". On that page make note of your username. Your password will be emailed to the email address you listed with us. With your username and password you're ready to log in for the first time and start meeting new singles. Previous Members

If you have been a member of JewishCafe.com before, you cannot create a new profile, as multiple accounts are not permitted. You must sign up for more time in your existing account. If you have trouble accessing your account please send a message to [email protected] (include your username) if you would like to come back as a paying member.

Retrieving Your Password

If you have an active profile on JewishCafe.com, you can request your password by the methods listed below.

Request Your Password by Email

If you still use the email address you used to sign up for your Cafe account, request your username and password be emailed to that email address. You must use the email address that you used to sign up for your Cafe account. If, after making the request, you still don't receive your password check your junk/spam folders for our email.

Request Your Password to a Different Email Address

If you no longer use the email address you used to sign up for your Cafe account, write to [email protected] and include your JewishCafe.com username, your zip/postal code, your birthday, your city, and let us know the email address you originally listed with us. We will email you your password.

Accessing Your Account

If you know your username and password but are having problems accessing your Cafe account, please review Accessing Your Account instructions.
